Naturally Stunning: Garage Doors Across North Carolina
Welcome to colorful North Carolina
Endless beaches of white, pristine sand. Ancient mountains blanketed with vibrant foliage. Modern cities brimming with nightlife, arts, and history.
North Carolina’s geography and climates are incredibly diverse—and, when it comes garage and overhead doors, the styles and trends are just as eclectic. Breezy coastlines, lush peaks, and southern heat: you’ll find a charming yet cultured atmosphere in this region.
This month, we chatted with our Charlotte and Raleigh sales departments to learn firsthand about North Carolina’s most popular garage door designs.
How would you describe North Carolina style?
Charlotte, NC: “North Carolina’s Piedmont region is growing at a tremendous rate. The beautiful blue skies and seasons make this a very popular destination to work and live. We have a diverse influx of people coming into our area, so each door style we install is unique to every individual’s taste.”
Raleigh, NC: “We have many new communities popping up all over, and growth isn’t slowing down any time soon. These neighborhoods have similarly styled homes and architecture, with builders favoring materials like rock and vinyl siding. In higher end communities, you’ll find even more stonework and hardy plank siding.”
People are drawn to North Carolina for its striking natural beauty, so it’s no surprise that many choose to settle down in the area. Whether it’s Craftsman, Southern, or Traditional architecture, the styles of homes are as varied as the residents who inhabit them.
Which garage door designs and products are most popular?
Charlotte, NC: “For nearly five years, the most requested garage door has been our Classic Steel 9100 and 9600 Series, especially the Sonoma design with Stockton III top glass and exterior decorative hardware. Customers have also been loving our newest model, the Classic Steel 8300 Series, with stained steel. In the past two years, Designer Fiberglass doors and custom Wood Doors have really grown in popularity.”
Raleigh, NC: “The communities popping up all over Raleigh and surrounding areas are quite fond of our Classic Steel 9100 Series. It’s the most popular garage door model in our region.”
All these designs radiate the appeal of real wood—even our Classic Steel garage doors, which exude a rustic look, but also feature durable construction and high insulation. This natural, subtle style looks wonderful on nearly every style of home, so it’s perfect for the diverse architecture found in North Carolina.
Can you share a NationServe project that best showcases Pacific Northwest style, trends, and lifestyles?
Charlotte, NC: “In a luxury townhome community, a local builder has installed our Designer Fiberglass 9800 Series across all 50 units. From Sonoma to horizontal and vertical panel designs, the doors all have different stains, providing a unique and beautiful view as you arrive in this upscale neighborhood.”
Raleigh, NC: “In our city, a large national builder is currently constructing a range of high-end communities. Many people are moving here from the north for the athletic lifestyle these neighborhoods offer. Selecting our Classic Steel 9100 Series, the builder has decked out the doors with Sonoma panels, windows, hardware, wireless keypads, and Genie Model 3024 operators. Unsurprisingly, many of these homeowners are gravitating to the garage door as the main entrance into their home.
Sleek, distinctive, and sophisticated—these projects epitomize the North Carolina look and lifestyle.
